DESCRIPTION:
This Ceremony is a long-standing tradition and our opportunity to
welcome new students to the Dornsife School of Public Health. The
pinning ceremony was first instituted at the School nearly 20 years ago
by the founding Dean and humanitarian, Dr. Jonathan Mann. Opening
remarks will be provided by Amal Bass, JD, Interim Co-Executive Director of Women’s Law Project.
Student Government Organization Officers will lead the new students in
reciting the preamble to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and
Charter of the World Health Organization as a reflection of the school’s
commitment to social justice, our vision of health as a human right,
and an important step that formally welcomes all new students into the
field of public health.
