Jessica Gould and Mary Ellen McCarty from the Philadelphia
Water Department will discuss GIS for Green Stormwater Infrastructure
Implementation in Philadelphia. Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) is an emerging stormwater management method
adopted by PWD in 2009. This program uses vegetation, soils, and other elements
to reduce stormwater runoff. GIS is used to supplement GSI in all project
phases, from site selection and design to data cataloging in enterprise
geodatabases. During the session, presenters will describe their new GIS data
model developed to house GSI asset geometries and how it connects to existing
work order management systems to enable maintenance, monitor, and easy
reporting.
